Library Organization
The Midwest Book Review
Established in 1976, the Midwest Book Review is an organization committed to promoting literacy, library usage, and small press publishing. The MBR publishes the following monthly book review magazines specifically for community and academic librarians, booksellers, and the general reading public:
- โThe Bookwatch
- โCalifornia Bookwatch
- โChildren's Bookwatch
- โInternet Bookwatch (a compilation of The Bookwatch, Library Bookwatch, and Wisconsin Bookwatch)
- โLibrary Bookwatch
- โMBR Bookwatch (reviews by senior volunteer reviewers)
- โReviewers Bookwatch (reviews by all other volunteer reviewers)
- โSmall Press Bookwatch
- โWisconsin Bookwatch
We post our reviews on the Internet with a number of thematically appropriate websites, databases, and online discussion groups such as alt.books.reviews. Our reviews are also available through Internet databases. We archive our reviews on the Midwest Book Review website for a minimum of five years.
The Midwest Book Review has contracted with Gale Cengage Learning to provide them with electronic copies of our book reviews. Gale Cengage Learning then makes our reviews available to library systems nationwide in their print, magnetic tape, and diskette series, Book Review Index (an interactive CD-ROM series designed for use by community, university, and corporate library systems throughout the U.S. and Canada), as well as online databases such as Lexus-Nexus and Goliath.
The resources of our website, including our book review magazines and Advice for Writers/Publishers articles, are provided free of charge to writers, publishers, and the general public. All authors of Advice for Writers/Publishers articles retain copyright and full ownership of their own writings.
An Unabashed Invitation
We are a major internet resource for publishers, writers, librarians, booksellers, and book lovers of all ages and interests. If you have a website that you think would be thematically appropriate to the publishing community and the reading public, we would be interested in adding your site to the steadily expanding Midwest Book Review Internet resource links.

The Making, The Rise, and The Future of the Speakingman by Dan Mrejeru
In The Making, The Rise, and The Future of The Speakingman, Dan Mrejeru delves into the evolutionary development of the human brain, exploring how we became the advanced communicators we are today. This thought-provoking book challenges our understanding of human evolution and posts intriguing theories about our future.
Dan Mrejeru, a multi-disciplinary scientist, has dedicated his career to exploring human evolution. His previous work, Solovki's Ersatz, marked a significant milestone in his research. In July 2019, Mrejeru self-published two more books: Emergence of Modern Brain and the Buildup of Imaginary Civilization and Augmentation and Illnesses of Civilization. He released a second edition on September 15, 2019. Mrejeru has published 96 science papers on academia.edu, and at prestigious institutions such as La Sorbonne (Paris, France), Oxford (UK), and the Medical University of Vienna (Austria). He has over 10,000 views and 1,000 readers on academia.edu. Mrejeru has written 20 books, three of which have multiple editions. More information can be found on his website, danmirceamrejeru.com, which has over 550 visitors.
Dan hypothesized that sapiens encountered two cognitive revolutions: their thinking system turned around 70 ka from a primitive/simple linearity toward an evolutionary nonlinearity that when it advanced it produced existential risks, and around 40-30 ka, the sapiens brain produced a correction redirecting the thinking process toward a gradual advanced linearity that helped them build our linear civilization. These two cognitive revolutions also participated in producing a new species manifested 30-23 ka as the Speakingman.
Another important idea is the extensive documentation offered for the role of functional latencies in human brain, in past triggered by the revolution of the novel dynamic language, where the latencies helped sapiens and their successors to unveil the unseen of the reality, while diminishing the processing speed of the neutral signal. One important idea is a massive analysis of the role and evolution of linearization that is responsible for quantifying all previous qualities.
The main idea of the book is the first time in literature, when the role of Geomagnetic event (Geomagnetic excursions, and temporal polarity reversals) influenced most of biota on this planet, but especially revealed in hominins and sapiens. They caused evolutions and extinctions.
Mrejeru's interdisciplinary approach combines insights from various scientific fields, making complex concepts accessible to a general audience. His vivid descriptions bring the subject matter to life, creating a captivating narrative. Add The Making, The Rise, and The Future of The Speakingman to your reading list and embark on a journey through the fascinating evolution of the Speakingman.
